Another tragedy has struck Hilton College during a school trip in the Drakensberg.
A grade 9 pupil has died after suffering a seizure while hiking.
The school says Chris Loxton was rushed to hospital late yesterday afternoon, but sadly doctors were not able to save him.
It's the second incident the school's suffered during the Berg trip.
Hilton's principal Peter Ducasse says Loxton and other grade 9 boys were in the mountains, as part of an "Outward Bound" trip late yesterday when he suffered a seizure.
A 4x4 ambulance was dispatched from Underberg and Loxton was evacuated on the recommendation of specialists.
However, the teen suffered repeated seizures while on his way to a Pietermaritzburg hospital.
Ducasse says the boy died in the early hours of this morning.
The tragedy comes after another grade-9 boy from Hilton lost his right arm at the elbow after he was hurt by a falling rock in the Cathedral Peak area on Wednesday.

I hope that Hilton College doesn't close down their Outward Bound program because of this, especially seeing as this could have just as easily happened on a normal school camp - although I guess the pressure will be on for them to close it down

This is one of the reasons I dislike big hiking groups. Smaller groups tend to be more aware of each other and will probably react quicker to avoid dangerous situations such as rockfalls.
