Dragon's Wrath 2015

On my last trip we saw a Berg Adder and Red lip - the red lip was not to please seeing us.

About the type of snake and looking at the criteria I can only think of rinkhals or a slight chance of berg adder. Puff adder is immediately painful with massive swelling and pain around the area. Berg adder is by far not that dangerous but you never know when someone is tired, dehydrated and not well maybe.Sorry to hear. RIP

A pic of a Rinkhals while on our way to Blindman's Corner last year February. If this snake did not make a noise/hiss at me I would never have seen it. Not at all angry, just a warning head spread and stayed low as warning.

WE took a step back, I kept my hiking stick a little ways in front of the snake to take the pic. We then stepped back again waited about 1 minute, he calmed and slithered along across path into the grass.

When he made his hiss he was around 1.5m away from my leg as I was leading a that time.

Lovely experience to be honest.

Hectic, so not only did he fall, he also landed on or near a snake 30m down?
That is seriously overdoing it, the dragon spirits must be really angry... probably the drought.

Really bad for the son to experience that, must have been beyond harrowing.

@ Saros - not sure I would describe that as "lovely" unless my sarcasm sensor is off. I would SH myself.

I am weird that way, I enjoy viewing animals and creatures etc that you would not normally see on a daily basis.
