We were lucky enough to meet Alex and his friend as they were walking towards Cathedral Peak hotel at the end of this hike. They were kind enough to stop and talk to us for about 10 minutes about this trip. You can see some of his Drakensberg photos on his website www.alexnail.com/gallery/drakensberg/

He also made a breathtaking time-lapse video which you can see at www.alexnail.com/timelapse/

Welcome Hannes! I was wandering when you would make your first post. Despite my online name being different to my real name, I'll only give you one guess who I am ;)

Look amazing!! Would love to go and do that route.

Does anybody maybe have a GPS track we can get from them to load on a GPS to follow for this hike??

I hiked from Cathedral Peak up Mlambonja Pass and down Ship's Prow, finishing at Injasuthi last year. Tracked all of it via my Suunto and will gladly e-mail you the tracks. PM me  It may not be ideal, nor what you want. But could serve as a backup for heavy mist and it does avoid the dogs at the Yodler’s Cascades :woohoo:

Unfortunately I don't keep GPS tracks of my hikes, I generally take a guide, largely because I like to offer locals employment, it's cheap, it's easier and it adds to the experience!
