I thought berg storms was the next 1? I like the water idea though, sounds slightly less dangerous!

I also thought a bit more, maybe storms is a better way to go, and keep water as the next theme.

Well done Geordie. I tried to get a field of rhp from foreground to infinity for a long time. I finally managed to get something i was happy with, but not as many as in your shot. Keep up the photography.

Firstly, thank you Chris and the VE site and voters. An honour indeed.

ST, it took an appature of 18 to achieve that. Far to "tight" for my liking but it's a good lens which holds its resolution up to about 22. Did not use a tripod but I think it was on a rock with the steady shot (Sony) switched on. It was such good light, I got an equally good shot in the opposite direction but it incorporated a very shoddy thatch roof of one of the huts, sharp though.
I also hike with the SLR, but never more that 2 nights out, too damn heavy.

Storms of Summer it is then. New thread here .

Note that the winning images are featured our home page, VE Facebook page and VE email updates. A copy is also published in a special sub-gallery featuring all winners from previous rounds. Maybe sometime in the future there can be a small prize of some sort.

On a hike this weekend we got really close to a family of 3 klipspringers on Mlambonja Pass. They seemed totally unfazed by our presence and continued grazing as we pass close by.
