Will have to have a look at these trousers.
Would definitely rather pay R180 than R650 for FA or other brands if they're up to scratch.

I had a look at the -8 deg bag, Mr Price now lists the weight there. The -8 deg bag is 1.6kg.

The "ultra-light"(www.mrpricesport.com/ProductDetail.aspx?webGroup=Outdoor&webSubGroup=Sleeping&page=1&p=1&t=14&code=6351010349) bag looked quite nifty, very small and compact.

I just bought a bag yesterday from Mr Price. I wanted a light summer bag and was looking for the First Ascent Paclite. When I saw the Trail Tech 0 Degree Snr Ultralight for R499 I snapped. I'll be using it for Otter Trail this weekend.

Today we bought two sleeping bags. 1 x FA Ice Breaker and 1 x TRAIL -5 Sleeping bag. The FA is clearly fantastic, but I'm impressed with the Trail bag so far, it looks and feels rather good. We have not tested it out yet but saw another thread talking good about it. So will let you guys know once we have tested it out but its worth looking at (still can't believe the price, R359???)

Let us know how it works out for you. As I'm sure you have read already, there are a few Mr Price bags floating around on this forum and the general consensus seems to be positive. I have as my summer bag, the Mr P 0 degree trail tech light bag. It's 1kg and has worked well so far, including keeping me toasty at very close to zero. (insert usual disclaimer about different people sleeping hot or cold etc)

I've just bought a puffy down jacket from Mr Price Sport.

Yes it weighs about 3 times what a proper Columbia or North Face one does and is 30% down and 70% feathers so won't be as warm etc.

BUT for R 399 instead of R 1 399 plus I am willing to take a chance.

Also, the exterior fabric is "thicker" - I'm sure that the North Face material is actually hard wearing on their Termoball down jackets but wow it feels flimsy.

I feel the same way about their zip-off "technical" longs.
Great price - in fact you could get three for the price of one big-name brand pair.
